Oh, the Audiobooks You’ll Download for Free!

Right now, the good folks at Audible and Amazon are giving this year’s high school and college grads (and the rest of us, too) one more reason to celebrate—for a very limited time you can download the audibook edition of Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by the inimitible Dr. Seuss for free.

Delightfully read by John Lithgow, this is a deal not to be missed.

All My Friends Are Dead Inside (If They Don’t Buy This Book)

All My Friends Are Dead by Avery Monsen and Jory John was easily the funniest book I read last year. It’s perfectly suitable to read with the kiddos and best of all, you can read it in its entirety in less than 15 minutes.

All My Friends Are Dead

The look and feel of All My Friends Are Dead is similar to that of a Mo Willems title, but its slightly twisted sense of humor sets it apart. The art is cute, but the clever writing will leave you in stitches.

Now, through the end of the month you can pick it up for just a buck via Amazon’s Kindle Book Store.

Well, what are you waiting for? Go get it. You’re welcome.

Get Two Free Christmas Classics from Audible

How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

This Christmas season the folks at Audible, purveyors of fine audio productions, are bringing in the holiday cheer with not one, but two Christmas classics for free (my favorite price).

Whether or not you have kids, you’ll enjoy How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss. The book is voiced by the crumudgeonly, but wonderful Walter Matthau.

The second free book is A Christmas Carol: An Signature Performance by Tim Curry by Charles Dickens. Re-reading Dickens’ immortal Christmas parable each year is one of my favorite traditions. I’m looking forward to hearing how Tim Curry brings Scrooge to life.

Download both of these books now as they aren’t likely to be free much longer.

I’m an unashamed Audiobook “reader” and you should be, too!

Dollar Shave Club Kits Finally Ship

Do you remember that video that went viral a couple months back for the the Dollar Shave Club?

Video via Dollar Shave Club.

Yeah, I had only the vaguest of recollections about it until my first shaving kit finally showed up on my doorstep last weekend.

Dollar Shave Kit

The pitch was simple. “Aren’t you tired of overpaying for razorblades?” I sure was, that’s why I signed up. Initial demand was so high that the Dollar Shave Club was unable to fulfill all of their orders—mine included.

Welcome Dollar Shave

Flash forward to present day and I’ve now been using their blades for one week. So far, I’m very satisfied. They give me a shave as good at least as what I can get from a multi-blade Gilette or Schick.

Razor and Blades

In the past I’ve spent $12-$18 for essentially the same box of cartridges that I can get shipped to me each month from the Dollar Shave Club for $6 a month.

Change Your Blade

Guess what? Today I threw away my first razor blade. Normally, I hang onto them for weeks (I know, I’m cheap). But, now I can actually get rid of my blades each week when I’m supposed to. I know that at the end of the month I’ll have a fresh shipment awaiting me.

Elite Group

If they are able to ship my order on time each month, I see no reason why I would ever cancel.
